My Name is Danita Hoskin

I am running for Marion County City County Council representing the new District 8 in the May Primary of 2023.

My team and I aim to create a secure and peaceful environment in which people can live, work, and thrive.

Affordable housing can be provided by government programs, nonprofit organizations, or private developers. We strive to assist at any capacity.

Access to food


Governments and int. organizations have a responsibility to ensure that all people have access to food, and our efforts are made to address the root causes of food insecurity in our communities.

I was born and raised on the city's eastside around 42nd and Emerson. I attended IPS school 83, Arlington High School, Vincennes University and Concordia University. When growing up I always envisioned that I would serve the community. Now I am back, living in my family neighborhood Crown Hill community. Getting the chance to make decisions for both Neighborhoods and the city of Indianapolis.

  • I believe living in a neighborhood where everyone feels safe is important for all communities.

  • Helping my community find housing is part of the mission.

  • Making sure our neighborhoods have the food that will allow us to thrive in our community is important for all families.

I have worked and Volunteered with several agencies; Midtown Indy, Martin University (Chief of staff), Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership, National City Ban, Community Action of Greater Indianapolis, Newfields Advisory Committee, St. Vincent De Paul Advisory Member, Kheprw Institute, United to Fight, Circle City Relief, and The Children Museum of Indianapolis Neighborhood Development Working Group.

As you see my passion is for the community and the city of Indianapolis.
